Hollie Mackenzie

Hollie Mackenzie explores the notion of the impossible Utopia by creating her own version of a dystopian landscape in the form of installation. She creates this to engage her audience in interpretation of its proximity to the reality in which we live. By doing this she aims to provoke questions about the presented impossible utopia and why it is conveyed as unattainable within our society.

Mackenzie’s artistic practice is informed by her theoretical learning, developing different and new ideas of which she then chooses to take further in sketches and experiments. By encountering her presented deviant reality, the viewer can question and interpret the artwork’s meaning whilst stimulating thought and discussion about the dystopian landscape/installation.
