An Exhibition of the Winning and Shortlisted Artists
The winners of the 2013 Griffin Art Prize, announced at a Prize ceremony on November the 6th, are Luke George & Elizabeth Rose.
George & Rose emerged as winners from a shortlist that included ten emerging artists with ten different views of the world. They have been competing for one studio space in the Griffin Art Prize 2013, an independent annual award celebrating emerging artists open to a graduate from university or Art College within the last five years.
Work from the ten shortlisted artists is now on display in the Griffin Gallery, an exciting artist’s space located in West London at the head office of some of the world’s finest artist materials; Winsor & Newton, Liquitex and Conté à Paris. The gallery uses its independence to support emerging artists and explore the cutting edge of contemporary art and craftsmanship.
The exhibition will include a wide range of media from painting and drawings to photography, printmaking and installation. The shortlisted artists were Eleanor Bedlow, Emily Moore, Mary Wintour, Luke George & Elizabeth Rose, Helen Frank, Nicole Wong, Rae Hicks, Scott Robertson, Susannah Douglass and Yuhwa Son. Work from all artists will be on display and available for purchase.
Griffin Gallery Art Prize Exhibition is at the Griffin Gallery until 29 November 2013 before travelling to High House and then White Moose Gallery in Barnstable.
Exhibition runs from 18 January to 16 February 2014 / Thursday – Sunday 11am – 5pm
